Top Rated Blackhead Vacuum Reviews

Blackhead vacuums are exactly what you think they are: little vacuums made to suck blackheads out of pores, but they are not all created equal. Some have more suction than others, some include features like a camera that links to your phone so you can watch that giant blackhead get sucked out (so satisfying!), and some come with extras like blackhead remover tools, different sizes of suction probes, and a built-in hot compress.

With so many options, how do you know which one to choose?

How To Choose a Good Blackhead Vacuum

We’ve broken down the basic differences between blackhead vacuums.

Suction Power. If they have too much suction, you’ll end up with bruising and tiny hickies all over your face. If they have too little suction power, you won’t get results. There are some things you can do to make suction better. It’s so tempting to hold the vacuum over one spot for more than the recommended 1-2 seconds to get that giant blackhead out, but don’t. Keep it moving in either a circular or linear movement and make sure your face is super wet. It’s also tempting to skip the skin prep, which we get into in the next section, but this will make the vacuum work better.

Suction Probes. All of these top rated vacuums come with different sized replacement probes. They come in different sizes for different skin types. The larger probe sizes are for oily (not sensitive) skin down to the smaller probes for sensitive skin. Some vacuums come with facial massage balls and probes for fine lines.

Extras. It’s nice to have extras like blackhead remover tools, a built-in hot compress, camera that connects to your phone for 20x magnification, and LED screens.

Tips for a Great Blackhead Vacuum Sesh

For optimal blackhead removal without doing harm, all vacuum sessions require the same few steps for success.

  • Before you start, double cleanse, exfoliate, and steam! The steam can be done with a fancy little facial steamer, or for free at home and it necessary to soften pores so the blackhead gunk comes out easily. You can take a nice hot steamy shower or even using a hot washcloth as a compress.
  • Go easy! It’s really easy to find one spot and want to go to town on it. But the trick with using a blackhead vacuum is to keep it moving and avoiding the temptation to linger on one spot for too long. Did someone say face hickey??
  • Use small circular motions. This makes anything you do to your face a bit more gentle where delicate skin is involved.

Poppyo Blackhead Vacuum

Very strong suction power and will leave you prone to bruising if you linger in one place. It definitely sucks out the gunk, but may not reach the really deep blackheads. Comes with replacement probes and even has a smaller suction probe for fine lines and wrinkles.

blackhead vacuum

Pros

  • Strong suction power, has levels 1-5
  • Includes a fine line and wrinkle smoothing suction probe, 4 replaceable suction probes, and USB charger
  • Easy to clean and use

Cons

  • Tiny rubber stopper behind the cap falls off when you replace the probe, super annoying!
  • May not last for a year after purchase
  • Might not get the really deep blackheads out without risking bruising

Overall

We like the 5 levels of suction and smaller probe for fine lines. It does a good job of getting the dead skin cells and superficial blackheads out. The deeper ones may need the vacuum to get them to the surface then extraction with a blackhead removal tool, but it’s better than a face hickey.

Freeshow Blackhead Vacuum

Powerful suction. It comes with really simple and easy to use instructions centered around your skin type. You just choose a suction probe for your skin type or if you just want one for fine lines, snap it on, and get to work. It’s simple +/- buttons increase or decrease suction. Plus, it looks pretty on your bathroom counter.

blackhead vacuum

Pros

  • Includes 5 replacement suction probes, USB charger
  • Really easy to clean and sanitize
  • Easy to use

Cons

  • So much suction it can actually hurt
  • Might be too much suction for sensitive or mature skin

Overall

Most people who try this vacuum love it! It’s got great suction, easy to use, and easy to clean. There are some who found it didn’t suck out the goo, just made a red mark. We think a better skin prep (double cleanse, exfoliate, steam) might help soften pores and make it work better. As always, be sure to keep the vacuum moving and in circular motions to prevent bruising.

X-Cheng Hot Compress Blackhead Vacuum

The hot compress at the touch of a button makes this blackhead vacuum unique. We still fully support prepping your face with double cleansing, exfoliation, and steam, but in a pinch you could apply the hot compress and suck out some blackheads. It has powerful suction, so go easy with low suction levels, to see how skin responds.

Pros

  • Bottom of vacuum heats up quickly with the touch of a button to apply to your blackheads to soften pores making extraction easier
  • 3 speeds of powerful suction
  • Includes 6 suction probes for different skin types, including a ball probe to give yourself a bit of a facial massage
  • USB charger, LED display

Cons

  • Might be too much suction for sensitive skin or mature skin

Overall

The added hot compress feature gives you a shortcut for skin prep or if you’ve already prepped, it’s a little added heat right before you vacuum. This is important for a safe extraction because it softens pores and makes extraction easier. For sensitive skin or mature skin, it might be a little too much suction.

Gugug Skin Spatula

OK, so skin spatulas are not blackhead vacuums. But this little gem seems to be so super popular that we figured if you’re interested in learning about vacuums, you might like this, too. This skin spatula, aka skin scrubber, ultrasonic cleanser, ionic cleaner, works by scraping dead skin cells, dirt, and oil off of skin while at the same time emits ions from the stainless steel to repel and attract molecules into and out of pores, plus it sends out gentle currents to stimulate the dermis which builds up collagen and other anti aging structures. It’s kind of magical.

blackhead vacuum

Pros

  • Stainless Steel spatula gently scrapes off dead skin, dirt, oil, and gunk
  • Ions lift excess oil out of pores while repelling nutrients, leaving them in skin
  • Currents emitted from the spatula stimulate the dermis, building collagen and reducing signs of aging
  • Includes 2 silicone covers for cleaning and lifting, USB charger, easy to clean

Cons

  • Needs a fair amount of pressure to clear out pores
  • Doesn’t suck out blackheads like a vacuum, it’s more of an exfoliator

Overall

This is a super fun way to improve your skin’s overall health. It’s an excellent exfoliator and if you use it right with great prep and on wet skin, it will make your skin soft and clear. You do need to apply a fair amount of pressure to get it to work properly. If you’re up for something new, then this fun little gadget is for you.

Lonove Blackhead Vacuum

It comes with extras that will save you money in the long run while keeping skin clear. We think it’s at a fantastic price point, so worth the risk or giving it a try.

Overall

This blackhead vacuum has powerful suction power. It’s LED light shows charge and suction power so you can keep an eye on how much suction you’re using. If you keep it in one place too long it will leave a bruise, so go easy and keep the vacuum moving over your skin.

PrabenseiBlackhead Vacuum with HD Camera and WiFi

If you like to watch blackhead removal videos, then this vacuum is your jam. But the best part is that you can see your own pimples and blackheads being sucked into the vacuum right from your phone. It has powerful suction but is gentler for sensitive skin.

Pros

  • Perfect for sensitive skin but still have powerful suction
  • Download the App and you can see your pores magnified 20x from the HD camera on the vacuum
  • Includes 6 replaceable suction probes, USB charger

Cons

  • Only 3 suction speeds
  • Suction probes are a bit hard to get off to replace

Overall

The powerful suction without much bruising plus the super fun time of watching your own blackhead goo get sucked up makes this vacuum a homerun. It comes with lots of accessories and doesn’t leave skin as red as some of the other vacuums we reviewed. If you have sensitive skin, this blackhead vacuum won’t leave you red as long as you do the usual skin prep and keep the vacuum moving. There’s 3 speeds, so be sure to start low and get higher to see how your skin tolerates it. It’s so cool to see what’s coming out of your pores!

Final Thoughts

If you find the right blackhead vacuum for your skin type and do a good job of prepping skin before use then you’ll love this little gadget. They all use USB chargers (no batteries required!) and come with replacement suction probes. Differences are mainly suction power, which probes are included, and fun little extras. For a change, give the super popular skin spatula a go and see how clear your skin can be!
